Swift Response for Fastaid
March 3rd, 2009
Volunteer medics are on the move helping the sick thanks to a ‘wheely’ good donation.
Fastaid Community First Responders can spring into action following the donation of a Suzuki Swift by Rybrook Suzuki of Rednal.
The £9,800 car will be used by the Fastaid team in Rubery, Rednal and Northfield.
Insurance has been provided by Rednal-based online wedding planners www.sponsalis.co.uk
Community First Responder Schemes are teams of volunteers working in partnership, and trained by, West Midlands Ambulance Service and provide life saving treatment to people in their local communities.
They respond to a 999 call within their area and stabilise a patient until the arrival of a paramedic.
Tim Atherton, the chairman of Fastaid, said: “It’s a great vehicle and we are extremely grateful to Rybrook Suzuki. It means we have a vehicle we can use specifically for responding and that gives us a really good presence in the area.”
Bob Foster, Sales Manager for Rybrook Suzuki, in Lickey Road, Rednal, said they were happy to help.
“It’s an organisation that works in our area and is going to help a lot of local people. We were very happy to do what we could,” he said.
