Training Day
19.05.2008
The FastAid CFR's have recently had a training day at Meridan Community Centre to further enhance their knowledge to enable them to assist crews even more.
Emma Wilkins (Community Responder Manager) and Andy Whittington (Paramedic) provide awareness on the use of spinal boards, removal of motorcycle helmets, nasopharangyl airways, the use of Nebulisers and heart monitors. The aim of this awareness training session was to provide the CFR's with more knowledge to enable them to assist crews more with greater knowledge of the equipment used etc. The day was broken up with a BBQ which made it a fun day of vital learning. The FastAid CFR's learnt a great deal and clearly have a thirst to learn more in the future to enable them to play a vital role role in patient care.
The FastAid CFR's also tested some new suctions devices for WMAS which looked like a water fight when some of the devices leaked more than they sucked. In short some of the devices were good, some were great and some just sucked! (ironically).
