New CRM in post
September 24th, 2008Well done to Emma Wilkins whose role as Community Response Manager for Birmingham and the Black Country is now substantive. Emma was seconded to the post in March and has successfully implemented defibrillators in a number of local communities, helped train hundreds of members of the public in basic life support and encouraged more people to become CFR’s.
Emma said “I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the role. I am looking forward to increasing awareness of basic life support and first aid within local communities and aim to install more life saving defibrillators across Birmingham and the Black Country.”
Emma has been with the service for over 16 years and has developed from rank of cadets to becoming one of the first A1 assessor’s of new paramedics within the locality.
Emma stated that she is very keen to increase links with the other emergency services, thereby improving the knowledge of basic first aid skills to any one who may be at an incident before the Ambulance service arrives and will also be concentrating on increasing the number of AED’s in recognised ‘hot spot’s’ as well as expanding the existing CFR training scheme to provide a higher overall level of patient care.
